Love Will Destroy Us All

Earlier, while I had been waiting to board the airship from Windurst to Jeuno, a mithra joined me on the dock.
I had a help request in my hands, which she noticed.

Oh, you need help with Red Mage artifact gear?

I was lost in thought. Troubled by what I knew I had to say to Sha-chan when next he came searching for me. Her inquiry startled me.

Hmm?! Oh-- Aye! I do.

I nodded and handed her my help request.
She smiled as she took it and read it.
The mithra seemed to also be a Red Mage. It was clear by her attire that she had accomplished a lot.
She wore a black and red hat with a brim. A champagne colored plume stood at an angle from the hat's band.
Her coat was purple with red shoulder accents and gold trim. It looked quite luxurious.

I can help you with this, if you will be available later. I'm on my way to do Limbus right now. So after that?

Really? Okay! No, I haven't a thing to do. I will occupy myself in Jeuno in the meantime. If anyone else offers aid, I will let you know. Thank you so much!

No problem! Us Mithra mages should stick together!

Right!

When we arrived in Jeuno, I wished her luck doing Limbus... Whatever that was. It didn't sound really pleasant, but she seemed happy about it.
I had some business in Port. The beastmen's seals I had been collecting were taking up valuable space in my gobbie bag.
So I handed them over to a portly man who chuckled when I did so. An odd man, but the orbs he gives in trade for the seals have potential. They enable the holder to take some friends to battle special monsters for neat rewards! Plus the battles can be a challenge and good training tool.

From Port Jeuno I wandered up the steps to Lower Jeuno...
As I came out onto the main walkway, a strange event met my eyes and ears.
A primordial crystal appeared unto us all. It carried a message which it delivered partially in song.
My mithra senses were tingling... Something wasn't right, but I could do nothing but listen.
When the crystal was through, it rained down it's heavenly light over all of Vana d'eal.
My memory isn't quite clear, but one sentiment resonated: Love will be the downfall of us all.
When things were quiet again, and everyone seemingly came-to, they behaved as though nothing had happened.
How could this be? Had I been deprived of so much sleep that I was hallucinating giant crystals?
No, I had not been mistaken, for an adolescent approached me.
He confirmed what we had all witnessed and requested that I recover Seedspall Astrum, Luna and Lux and bring them to him.

I nearly fainted away when he told me his name.

I stood for a while, stunned. Then, simply sat beside the fountain and watched the water leap and dip. Thinking.
Love will destroy us all...

The mithra mage from earlier pulled me from my ponderings with a private word.
She was ready to assist with coffer key hunting and was bringing her husband.
I had been so distracted that I wasn't quite ready! I raced to get a few things for the hunt from my rent-a room... and ran into Shagrath.

Kiamo!

He grabbed for my shoulder as I attempted to scamper by him.

Oh.. I'm kind of busy right now.

Yes, I presume with coffer key hunting? I saw your help request so I came here.

Well.. yes but... You see...

I couldn't even meet his gaze. I fixed my eyes on my toes and criss-crossed my arms tightly under my chest.

What's the matter? I had been trying to contact you but-

Shagrath... Sometimes I don't want to be contacted...

You are mad at me? Kiamo, what is the matter?

He reached for both my shoulders and I had to twist away to avoid his hands.

No. No, I am not mad at you, Shagrath.

I sighed heavily and lifted my eyes. He looked stricken. His face full of hurt and confusion. His eyes caught mine and I couldn't break the hold.

Then-- What..? Please, talk to me.

Again he reached a gentle hand to my shoulder, the other to my arm.
I was frozen by the look of pain in his eyes.
Something must be said. So much had been on my mind lately. So much had happened, not much of it good.

Sha... The last thing I ever would want to do is hurt you...
Did... Did you see and hear that ancient message- It happened not long ago... Right here, above Jeuno.

No, I did not.

Part of the message was... That love will destroy us all...

No, love builds up, not destroys. Who told you that.

Stop-- it's... It's true. Love will destroy us all. Don't you see?
The ones we love the most, are able to bring us the most pain.

And also, the most joy... What brought all this about, Kiamo.

I'm fed up with how everyone has been treating me lately.
I least expect that from you...
I think... I think I ought to go back to how I was doing things before I met you.
In fact, a mithra offered to take me to get a coffer key in the Eldieme Necropolis. I am going to take her up on her aid.
I rely far too much on you.
And... and I don't want you to lose any friends because of me.

No... you're the only friend I want or need.
I adventure for you. You know that Kiamo.

Sha-chan... The childishness of some of the linkshell members has escalated to a point where I won't tolerate it any longer.
Perhaps it would be best if we went our separate ways.

What? Why?

Well for starters the leader turned a blind eye and claimed neutrality... Only to admonish me for actions started by someone who behaves as though the world revolves around them!
One who hunts me down just to harass me. All the while you never said a word. None of you did. You all watched it happen and did nothing. Except Ghrenn, she left.
I know you want to be friendly with all of them. So please, just go and do that. I can find help from strangers. And besides, at least when strangers mistreat me it is all the easier to simply walk away. When your friends do it...

Kiamo... I can take you to get your key...

I'm sure other people require your services at the moment anyway... I know a few people have been looking for you to--

Well then they will have to wait, because my intentions this day are to help you.

Please don't- You don't have to...

I know. I want to.

I'm already getting ready to head out with the mithra and her husband...

Kiamo... why won't you let me come? What have I done to cause you to not want to be around me.

It's not that I don't want you to- It's just- You are well loved and clearly I am not. Do not jeopardize that for me.

And with that he sang. He must have the soul of a great bard, for the manner in which he delivered these words... Words that I did not understand, stirred something deep within me that I can not explain.

Kiamo... Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Diyoyo Nah Prachodyat

What... is that.. song.. Sha-chan?

Does it bring you peace and calm?

Kind... of-- It... did... something to me...

Let's go get your key.

All I could do was nod. I had simply wanted to release him. To free him to do as he pleased.
But it seemed... It pleased him to do coffer key hunts with me. Or anything for that matter.
I only wanted to protect you... To let you fly free...
It seemed as though, no matter the circumstance, I simply could not force myself to be cross with Shagrath-- No matter how hard I tried. I push him away with one hand, but the other pulls him closer...

We met up with the friendly mithra and her husband.
They had already begun to slay some monsters and quickly found the key I needed.
The couple had a previous engagement with their linkshell, and bid us adieu.

Once again, Shagrath and I were left to ourselves.
Had he not come along, I would have been standing there alone.
Is that what I really wanted?
It certainly is less scary to face the unknown (and undead) with someone by your side.

Besieged

I was in Al Zahbi, selling off items from my latest training excursion, when and alarm sounded.
The shop keeper immediately closed up, saying something about taking cover before the attack.
Attack?
I knew beastmen raided the city, I just never expected to be there when it happened.
Mercenaries began to swarm the area as merchants fled.
Before I could decide what to do, the Serpent Generals decided for me. One of them announced to the gathered mercenaries that we should ready for battle.
The doors were all blocked. There was no escape.

I overheard something about the undead swarm upon us, breaching the outer walls.
No time to panic... I looked around for the closest stairway. It would probably be best if I could get a higher vantage point.
Before I had a chance to run, one of the serpent generals handed me a satchel full of assorted items.
Everyone was getting one, it seemed.
I scampered up the stairs and started digging through the bag, trying to quickly read the labels. Many items I had never heard of, nor did I know what their functions might be.
I heard screaming and the clash of steel on bone. Behind me several mercenaries were attacking the first wave of skeleton warriors that had invaded the city.
The stairway I was climbing started to fill with fighters. I managed to slide into a hallway and inched my way down it. Perhaps my friends were somewhere in the throng. Perhaps I could find them.

I rounded the bend and sure enough there was Sha-chan.
He had somehow lost his shirt. I was momentarily distracted, for in fact, the only stitch of clothing left on his tightly muscled adventurer's body was his cobra unit subligar.
Then a lamnia hissed at me and my attention turned to her.
She caught my gaze and a wide toothy grin spread across her pale face

She ran one clawed finger down Shagrath's back, all the while grinning over his shoulder as she drew nearer to him.

She seemed to whisper something into his ear...
Were I he, I would be able to smell whatever it was the fiend had had for breakfast.

The lamnia grinned a foul grin as Shagrath turned to face me.
His eyes were dazed and staring, completely unnatural.
She worked her hips in a circular motion and raised her arms above her head.

Slowly Shagrath's arms flexed, his sweat glistening in the high mid-afternoon sun of Aht Urhgan.
He tightly clenched his fists and... made for me!

Shagrath?!

I could see my reflection in his glassed-over eyes. They didn't blink as he walked closer, ready to battle me.

Kiamo?

Ghrenn! Sha.. he's... acting weird.

Ghrenn was beside me and not far off I could see Mishi trotting up a stairway.

Kia! Look out!

Before I could move, I felt a blow to the back of my ribs... Delivered by Shagrath.
How could he?! How could he HIT ME?!

BIND!

I limped away, holding my side and looking over my shoulder at my attacker. I didn't want to fight him, but it seemed unavoidable.

I bet he is charmed. Which Lamnia did it, Kia?

Tha-- that one there Ghrenn! Lamnia 46!

I'm on it!

Ghrenn drew her sword, ready to face the half-female foe.

I can't believe Sha would be charmed by that fish-breath!

Me either... I'm really shocked Kia. I thought for sure he could resist anyone for you...

Mishi- what?

Teehee don't worry-- Oh!! Actually WORRY! Here he comes!

GRAVITY! BIND!

Mishi, my spells don't hold him for long...

Well he is more experienced then you...

Help me, I don't want to fight..

He's too powerful for me, too... I'm going to help cure the Generals. Otherwise we risk losing the Astral Candescence.

Mishi ran off in the direction of the Hall of Binding.
I caught a glimpse of Ghrenn battling with the Lamnia before I noticed Shagrath making his way sluggishly toward me.

S-- SLEEP!

Ghrenn! What do I do?

I can't help you!!

All around us bodies were falling to the stone walkway, or making an attempt to flee.
I saw Ghrenn use her Invincable ability as well drink down different drinks in colored vials.
What was she doing?!

SHIELD BASH! Kia!! Get out of here, I won't last long!

A new sharp pain in my side. Another punch from Shagrath. How could he do this to me?!
I blocked his next blow with my shield and turned to run.
It was then I felt a firm grasp on my tail.
Shagrath.

Sha!! Why are you grabbing me there?!

He responded with a sharp yank. My eyes filled with tears and I blindly drew my sword.
I swung with the flat side of the blade to try to stun him, though even if I did cut him, I imagined he would feel no pain.
Shagrath did not smell of light musk, like he normaly did. He stunk of pungent rot mixed with foul bloodied flesh, old sweat and incense.

I had run the wrong way and was backed into a corner. Sha's hold on my tail slackened. I quickly wrapped it about my thighs as I sunk to my knees, cowering behind my shield.

Sha- Shagrath... Please... No...

Kiamo?

I felt a clamy palm rest gently on my shoulder and peered over my shield.
Through the blur of tears, I could see Shagrath knelt before me.
Around me, fellow mercenaries dressed the wounds of their fallen friends.
I blinked and rubbed my eyes, thankful Shagrath was no longer attempting to use me as a punching bag.

Sha... You...

I'm sorry... I wasn't myself... I would never--

Then WHY?!

I was charmed... I wasn't able to act of my own accord.

I could only shake my head and blink back tears. I hadn't been swayed to follow the Lamnia.
I hadn't succombed to her hip rotation. To her manipulation.

Shagrath.. You... You've been nakefied. Perhaps you should address that.

I-- wha-- oh... Oh! Aye I should, but... Kiamo are you okay?

This town is foul. I'm going... back to Windurst.

I didn't hear his reply through the woosh of casting warp.

Away With You

She's probably FAT! AhhHAHAHA!

Hahaha MT'!!

Haha I bet!!! Op-- MT!! Hahahaa!!!

Harrharr!! He has a T-shirt on that says If found please return to Kia!!

ROFL MT again!!! Hahharharhar!

-_- So anyway, my friend needs a pearl but isn't in the same zone. Would one of you mind--

NO MORE NEW PEOPLE! I'm a sackholder and I say no more!

What? Why not?

Because all YOUR friends bring problems to the shell. They all suck and are pathetic and exist to cause trouble for me!

Umm.. you're the one throwing the fits...

SHUT UP!!!

Okay... What's her deal?

Beats me... Anyway, want to go exp?

Yeah! That would be great!

Arrrhhhggg!! There is nothing wrong with ME! It's all YOU GUYS!

That's IT! I've really had it with your nasty attitude! I QUIT this shell!

I handed the transcript back to Mishi, shaking my head. She began to further explain what I had just read.

She wouldn't let Ghrenn's friend join. She also said she was quitting and had given all her things to noobs she met in town or strangers.

So this is what has been going on lately? That's pretty rude. And here I am trying to give everyone space.

Maybe you should just... Make your own linkshell?

No, I don't care to do that. Why would you suggest that Mishi-moon?

Oh well, just an idea... Since you don't like this one.. and all.

What? I like them fine. I just don't like the way people have been treating my friends and I lately.

No one is being nasty to me so.. Well anyway. Did you want to do that quest I was telling you about? Lure of the Wildcat?

Oh sure... What was that for again?

So you can get to Whitegate quicker, silly! You don't want to keep getting attacked by pirates on the ship, do you! Tehee!

Mishi and I set to speaking with what felt like half the population of Windurst!
I wasn't too keen on promoting something for that nasty mithra Naja, but maybe she would leave me alone if she had more mercenary's to set to her bidding.

Just as we completed the task Shagrath found us milling around in Windurst Woods.
Mishi made some weird excuse to leave... and whispered to me that I was really lucky to have him. That she wished her guy was as attentive.

I shook my head at her, but she was intent on heading out.
He's... not my guy. I don't really know why he always comes to call, but he does. I know I'm lucky, but---

Kia?

Hmm?

You were just staring into space. Something bothering you?

Oh... Just... Well, I suppose not. I was just thinking about... Well everything that's been happening lately.

Don't worry about it, let the universe figure it out! ^_^

Sha... things just are not that easy.

They can be...

I can't just throw all my worries up to the universe and expect Mishi's wedding to get planned... Among other things...

Oh is that what it's about..?

Not even just that... You know what else. You were there...

What..? The mog house you mean?

No! {/sigh} Sha-- really... Sometimes... I wish... you-- Ugh.. never mind.

Kiamo! What's wrong?

Sha, I need to go organize some things in my mog house. I'll see you later.

I felt bad leaving him standing there confused, but I was just as confused myself.

My first time: Colibri

May 18, 2009

It was a beautiful day for fishing in Windurst while seeking a party.
After a time, someone invited me to join them for some training.
However, they wanted me to meet them in Aht Urhgan.
I had been there before, but didn't enjoy the experience so much. As a result, of course I did not set my "home point" there.
The quickest way I knew of to get there was via the ship from Mhaura, which wasn't at all quick.
I let the party leader know, and they were perfectly okay with it! ^_^
Fortunately I could get to Mhaura fairly fast.

Once I arrived, I didn't have long to wait for the ship!
I was glad for that, but not too thrilled to be going back to Aht Urhgan.
So loud, so many strange smells and oh so many people!
I found myself wishing Sha-chan was beside me, but alas, this journey I would make alone.
...I really shouldn't rely on him for so much. Even if just a travel companion.

The ship departed, and I seated myself comfortably in the steering house.
From this vantage point, I could watch the scenery, peer at the map and perhaps chat with the captain.
There was no one else on this voyage for me to strike up conversation with.
I found this to be a little odd. Why wouldn't there be more passengers to such a popular city?

While studying the map, I heard clamoring on the deck.
As I leaned forward to catch a glimpse of what was causing the noise, my gaze met that of a hulking skeleton!
It bellowed at me as it floated up toward the steering house window.

Ye slew mi cous'n. I'ull have mi rarvange upon ye!
I'ull git ye fur brakfest, ys stupid, fat mithra! Yarr! Bukbeard the Cherry Picker 'ull narvur let it go!

What? Fat? Did you really call me fat?

Don't worry little mithra, there is a magical veil around the steering house. That old, sloppy Buckbead the Cherrypicker can not gain entry.

Oh- Well that's good to know...

Yar!! I are talkin ta you there stupid lass. Cint ya hear meh thru yir thick head?

I cocked my brow and chuckled to myself... At least I actually had something in my head...

Dont ya undurstand me? What di yar speek... Chocobo?

{/fume}
I was tempted to leave the safety of the steering house, but did not.
I knew that this Buckbeard was just trying to provoke me into anger and that simply won't do.
Instead, I folded my arms across my chest and resisted the urge to stick out my tongue at the legion of undead gathered on the deck.
I knew they couldn't get into the steering house. So I just smiled and waited. When we got closer to Whitegate, they finally fled.

Once I arrived, I met up with the party.
We headed out into the field area just outside the city. Our targets would be little pink birds called Colibri.
Wow did we slay them quickly! I could hardly believe it.
Sadly, they were really resistant to Paralize and Slow, so I cast Dia on each new bird when I remembered.
I was the main healer for the group, with a Scholar to assist me.
The strange little birds used equally as strange abilities like snatch morsel and feather tickle.
How in the heck could they take something you have already eaten?
Feather tickle sounded a little naughty... I would have to refrain from telling Sarima about that
particular ability lest I give her any ideas!

Personal Updates

May 09, 2009

Woo! So much happened when the dramatoraima blew in. I'm so far behind! {Please forgive me!}
I am pulling inspiration from the way LBR does "personal updates" with the guests.
Speaking of LBR, I've been blessed to win the acclaim of the absolutely awesome Edwyth!
I was asked to do some work for him for an upcoming episode of Elegantly Edwyth, which comes out MAY 20th!
It's hard to believe. Little Windurstian mithra me... asked to do work for the master of elegance himself, Edwyth!
I've been so wrapped up in that and working toward goals that some of my other responsibilities have fallen by the wayside. ; ;

I put that old linkshell to bed, and am in a brand new one: SolaFide!
Image

We have done Subligar farming and gotten past "The Savage".
In addition to Chains of Promathia accomplishments, I am now /*\Level Up 60/*\ Red Mage! O_o
I am even shocked at this! Soon I will have to go toe to toe with master of many jobs: MAAT! ...but not QUITE yet hehe.
With the help of my friends, I now can run around town wearing all my pretty Warlock attire!
In addition to that, big brother invited Sha-chan and I to hunt Padfoot with him. We got an earring, which sells for a decent amount of gil on the Auction House! I used the funds I was awarded from that to get Phalanx! :D {/cheer}
Sha-chan now has Utsusemi: Ni, so we started training his Ninja with my White Mage.
That is pretty fun... except when we get an over-zealous Dark Knight in the party who thinks using soul eater + weaponskill is a good idea when my mana is low.. -_-;
But no worries! I am looking forward to more training on that, as well as Sha-chan's Bard and me on Dancer! :D
We are the entertainment! Yay! Hehe!

I'm also now blessed to have access to all the staging points in Aht Urhgan!^_^

That's about it for now! Don't forget about MOTHER'S DAY!!

Mirror Signals

May 04, 2009

Shagrath and I were traveling through Jeuno one afternoon when a woman approached us.
She was distressed and asked us to aid her.
Apparently her daughter had gone out to play and never returned.
A nearby Mithra, Luto, vouched for our skills at helping others.

I privately wondered why she didn't keep closer watch of the child as I happily agreed to aid her.

We set to asking the folks around Jeuno and got a few leads.
The little girl was last seen heading to the Eldieme Necropolis. So off we went.

We didn't have to wander too far in before we spotted the little blond hume.
I beckoned her to join us so that we could escort her back to Jeuno.
As she approached, a skeleton came up behind her.

Shagrath and I began to fight the creature. It wasn't very strong, which was good.
Then, out of no where, an Elvaan and a Hume showed up from the depths of the stairwell we were in.
They each provoked the skeleton!

Hey... there.. um...

Why did you do that?!

We are okay fighting this.. thanks, though. Plus we are pretty experenced fighters.

DON'T WORRY! WE SHAL SAVE YOU!!

What? No- We've got it, we're higher level.

They were much lower level then Sha and I, so I started casting a flurry of black magic to make quick work of the skeleton.

After the battle, the pair insisted on taking the little girl back to Jeuno for us.
Before I could protest, they warped with her in tow!

Ummm... Okay...

Wait... What were those guys doing down here with that little girl?!

They both seemed rather suspicious...

We quickly raced back to Jeuno, wondering if their motives were less then honorable.
The girl's mother assured us the child had been returned safely and thanked us.
Luto, who had recommended our talents to the mother, rewarded us with a silver ingot for our trouble.

At that point the mysterious Hume and Elvaan appeared. They started speaking about a mirror that they held in their possession.
Then began blabbering on insanely about how they frequently obey its every whim.

With that, the strange pair insisted something was amiss just outside of San d' Oria and took off.

Hmm that doesn't seem to be very healthy behavior.

Yeah.. I wouldn't obey a mirror >_>

Just as Sha-chan and I were about to go meet with Maat, Luto asked us to go assist the... Hume and Elvaan.

We tracked the duo to Ghelsba outpst and upon examining one of the huts we were attacked by a dragon.

Shagrath and I were making quick work of the creature when...
Once again out of no where appeared the Elvann and the Hume

PRAaaaVOKE!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! Not this again!

Guys! Seriously, we have this covered!

Ye-gads! The monster is too strong!

No... It really isn't...

It must be drawing power from the mirror it has!

What... mirror? No it isn't...

Shagrath, are you okay? The mirror is feeding power to the beast!

I shall save the day and smash the mirror!

We're fine!!

Kiamoko casts Water II and defeats the dragon.
Gunner smashes the mirror.

After a brief and awkward conversation, they warped away.

Sha-chan and I made our way back to Jeuno and showed the broken mirror to Luto.

Oh no! It's cracked!

Guess who showed up... That Elvaan and Hume, trying to explain why the mirror had been damaged.

Well I had to break the mirror in order to save Shagrath and his lady Kiamoko!

Wait-- my lady what?

All Sha-chan and I could do was shake our heads and sigh.
As every time we tried to explain the truth of the incident, they would simply talk over us.

Oh well if it was to save their lives then it was worth it I suppose.
I'll just hang onto it for the time being anyway.

Then the hume pulled me aside.

The glass of all-seeing is showing me your face, Kiamoko.
Have I been led to you?
I knew we were supposed to meet.
Here, I want you to have this.

Wait.. what?

It's a linkpearl to my linkshell SignalCult!! You can use it to contact me anytime! ::wink::
Oh! And we'll need a nice rendezvous point to meet up, won't we?

I don't think so...

How about Ru'Lude Gardens! Or North San d'Oria? Or maybe Port Bastok...? Oh wait! Your home nation is Windurst--- So when you are there, how about Waters. Or perhaps your mog house? ::wink::

I... uhhh... think... maybe...--heh.... You have the wrong imprrrression...heh--

OK!!! See you again SOON Kiamoko!!!

No--- Shagrath!!!!

What's the matter Kiamo?

Sha-chan.... That hume guy was super creepy! He gave me a linkpearl.

Yeah, his Elvaan compatriot wasn't much better. He did the same and wanted me to meet him in my mog house....

Oh my Goddess! The Hume suggested the same to me!

You should warn Sarima about him.

Yeah... I know lately she's been allowing people in... when I'm still in my sleeping attire.

Hahaha!!! Sorry about that, Kia, but hey... It was worth it, huh?

I stuck my little pink tongue out at Sha-chan and flipped my hair asde to reveal the Astral Earring that I was still wearing.

Oh aye Sha-chan, I love it! I suppose we are free now to go have that chat with Maat.

Yes, lets! And while we're at it, we should drop these linkpearls.

We headed up to Ru'Lude Gardens, where we discarded the pearls.
The peculiar pair was near by and found the pearls we had dropped.

Hey!! Hey there Shagrath and Kiamoko!! You guys dropped these!!

It's a good thing we just happened to be strolling by to find them for you!

Oh... Gee... Thanks... However could that have happened... I must have a hole in my pocket... !?

Want to hang out?!?!

Uh... No... I was just going to see Maat.. I had better go home now and fix the hole in my pocket. I guess my clothcraft skills need some work!

Oh maybe I could mend it, let me see your---

Kiamoko uses Chainspell! Kiamoko Starts casting warp! Kiamoko vanishes!

Byebye Kiamoko!!! I'll catch you later. Bye Grauffemart and Shagrath!!

So.. Shagrath... want to hang out on the bench or something?

No... I... well... see... that older gentleman there seems to be about to sit...

What?! Well what the heck. Is that old man over there planning to sit down on that bench or what? And they complain about the younger generation being inconsiderate...

You know what! I just got word from my house moogle that I left my kitchen... on... fire?! Gotta blaze!

Shagrath uses flee.

While You Were Sleeping

May 02, 2009

Kiamo kupo! Wake up! Rise and Shine!
Sha-chan's here with something divine!!
Kupo!

What.. Sarrima?

I rubbed sleep from my eyes and peered at my house moogle, confused.
Then I caught a glimpse of Sha-chan.
In my mog house.
Standing at the foot of my bed!!!!

I drew in a breath and drew up my quilt.
This had never happened before! Sarima never lets anyone in unless I permit her to!
I hissed at Sarima under my breath.

All I have on is a simple sleeping shift... If I get out from under the covers he will see all my tomorrows!

Oh kupo-quiet Kiamo... He's not here to be a peeping-Shagrath.

Hey there Kiamo!

H--hi Sha-chan...

Sorry to wake you... Umm...

Heh... yeah you see... I ah... I am not exactly... decent... right... now...

As I formed the words I felt my face flush.
My eyed darted toward my little waterfall.
I wanted to hop in it since my embarrassment was causing the temperature to rise from my face down to my neck and chest.
Why oh why does Sarima always seem to find ways to make me blush worse then I have ever blushed before?!

I'm sorry Kiamo! {/blush} I just didn't want you to run off before I could give you this present.

If I promise not to sneak out into the back ally will you wait outside for me?

Of course!

Shagrath stepped outside and I glared as Sarima.

Sarima!!!!! Why did you let him in?

Koupopiee! He was really excited to give you something Kiamo!

I really think you just want to embarriss me to death...

KupNO! Kiki... you're so mean... I just wonder if maybe you two shold just admi--

Sarima...

You know your linkshell mates have said...

They are saying a lot of stupid things as of late. I'm certainly not going to pay their musings mind right now. I know you know what I mean.

Don't be so mean to me Kiki... I'm just trying to be a helpful house moogle...

I'm sorry Sarima... I just... Don't see how Sha-chan seeing me in some state of undress would do any good at all. Please just keep all visitors out unless I say it's okay... Okay?

Ohkupokay!!

I quickly dressed and met Shagrath outside.

Hehe Hey Sha-chan!!! Sorry about that I---

No need to explain, Kiamo! ^_^

So what is so important, Sha-chan?

Well okay... You see I was out very early this morning. And... well. Close your eyes and give me your hand.

My hand? My hand?!?! Oh Altana... was Sarima right? What was he going to do give me?

Uh.. okay...

I squeezed my eyes shut and held up my left hand.
I felt Shagrath gently grab my wrist.
I could feel my heart begin to quicken its pace and hoped Sha-chan couldn't tell...
He turn my palm up to face the sky and placed something small in it.
The item was some metal, cool to the touch.
He closed my fingers around it and let go my hand.

I blinked open my eyes and drew my hands to my chest.
Slowly I opened my left palm, and peered at what lay inside.
Two delicate curls formed the closure. They seemed to form a heart.
Hanging from the center was a cone-shaped piece that had little grooves carved into its length.
Flanking that were two much smaller pieces that were identical to the one in the middle.

This is beautiful..!

It is an Astral Earring.

I gasped!! This was one of the more expensive ear decorations!

Sha-chan!!! No.. no.. I can't accept it. It's too much.

No, no! I insist! I was camping Padfoot while you were sleeping and found the earring on it.

Oh.. Sha... I can't believe you went out and did that just for me.

I slipped off the energy earring I had been wearing and put the Astral earring in its place.
Grinning, I pulled my hair aside so Shagrath could see.

Beautiful!

Hehe! Thank you so much Sha-chan!!! I love it!!!

And without thinking, I launched into a to tight hug of poor Sha-chan.
But really, he should expect such a response when he gifts me with something so lavish! :3

Ancient Vows

Apr 22, 2009

The six of us gathered in Jeuno.
At the last minute, we decided to change up our battle plan to make the best use of the jobs everyone was well trained on.
Mishi would be our Red Mage. Shagrath would be Puppetmaster. Ghrenn as the valiant Paladin. Microcuts as Blue Mage. Feofi as Dragoon.
I dressed White Mage with black mage support and gathered together the necessary supplies.
Three Yagudo Drinks.
One re-raise earring.
Sha-chan had some hi-ehter and prism powder for me.
I took a deep breath and stepped out of the Jeuno rent-a-room I had been preparing in.
There they were, my friends smiling up at me as I descended the stairs to greet them.
Eager to face the challenge that lay before us.
I was excited if even a little nervous.

We made our way to Riverne Site A01.
I reminded everyone that Hippogryph would be able to detect us by sight, even if we had the invisible enchantment up.
Warning was also given of creatures that could detect magic as well as sight.
Our maps were not great, only vague marker points. A displacement there, some creatures to avoid here...

The riverne was simply beautiful!
It was hard to keep up while looking around and admiring the lush green grass, the clear blue sky, and the other floating islands that seemed scattered in every direction.
How could they have come to exist that way? Some sort of ancient magic?
Or perhaps something unseen to my untrained eye allowed them to hover in the heavens so?

We easily found our way through without incident!
I was very thankful for that, remembering past thrown together groups who couldn't avoid monsters at all.
No more of that madness. Now we six were a team! Feofi, Ghrenn, Microcuts, Mishi, Shagrath and I. =^_^=

Once at Monarch Linn, we went over the battle plan.
We needed something known as "yellow liquid".
According to my big book of All Things Vana'diel by Wiki Clopedia, if we defeated one of these Mammet's, we would be able to snatch this liquid from it's pockets.
We chose to try that and slew one. In fact, Red Mage Mishi-moon was the last party member standing!
( /cheer Mishi!!!! You're awesome!)
However, it held no yellow liquid!
We were slightly perplexed, but refused to let this little set back kill our conviction!

After resting and plotting, we decided we could handle these foes without the liquid.
We would give it our all.
If we fell, so be it.

Before charging in, I gave the party protection and shell enchantments. As well as haste to Sha-chan.
I knew he intended to do battle with one of the mammets on his own, with only Lobo to assist him.
A chill crept up my spine at the thought of not being able to run to his aid should something happen, but he had told me not to.
That Lobo would take good care of him. Not to worry. And most of all, if I did assist him, I would pull hate and probably be really injured as a result.

Ghrenn, Mishi and Feofi raced forth. Ghrenn assaulted one mammet.
Microcuts got the attention of another mammet, and ran off from the main group with me in tow.
My task was to keep Micro alive until Ghrenn, Mishi and Feofi had disposed of their foe.
Sha-chan took the attention of the final mammet and ran away from the rest of us to battle it.

As planned, Feofi, Mishi and Ghrenn slew their enemy first.
They came to help Microcuts and I finish off the one we had been fighting.
Shagrath was holding his own amazingly! <3 Nevertheless, we all went to help him destroy our final foe! Ghrenn used his Invincible ability just for giggles! None of us needed to use our super special abilities, actually. Though, I was ready to use Benediction should the situation present itself. It truly was a flawless fight! I couldn't have asked to face these enemies with a better group! <3 Thank you all, I look forward to facing any challenge with the five of you! =^_^=

O_o Rotten Eggs?

Apr 21, 2009

Kupo!! Kiamo!

Ever chipper Sarima. I squinted out at her from beneath my quilt sanctuary.
Another late night with friends. Somehow Sarima always managed to wake me up early after such outings.

Yes Sarima?

You must read this memo! Kupo!

Sarima twirled over and handed me her official moogle memo.
I took the parchment and slipped out of bed, making my way to the ever babbling fountain in my mog house.
My initial intention was to simply splash my face with water, but I didn't want to ruin this important moogle memo so...
I opted to strrrip down and jump in instead!
The cool water instantly woke me up! I propped my feet up on the stone and read...

Egg Hunt: Open Season Coming Soon to Vana'diel
The three nations are abuzz once more as the pinnacle of all celebrations good and eggly—the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza—fast approaches, kupo! This year, as in the past, the Egg Hunt will see that most vital of all adventuring qualities—cooperation—tested to the fullest egg-stent. After all, it is only through uncompromised collaboration that an ad hoc assemblage of adventurers can consolidate weaknesses and overcome ordinarily overwhelming odds. With seamless cooperation in full swing, even the subjugation of legendary beasts of yolk—errr...yore, even—is not out of the question, kupo!

Oh! An egg hunt sounds simply sublime!

When Sha-chan came to call, I mentioned it to him and we headed for the event Moogle to get our first eggs!
We began collecting and trading and got our beloved friends Mishi and Ghrenn in on the fun as well.
Traj even came to help us, on Shagrath's request, to get certain lettered eggs to spell out first five letters of certain regions for special rewards!
Everyone was super helpful! We all had an egg-citing time! Hehe ^_^

It did get a little overwhelming when I woke up the next morning to Shagrath at my door.
I peered out, since I was still in my sleeping attire and not my adventuring attire.

Good morning Sha-chan! ...what's this..? What have you been up to all night?

Why, collecting eggs for you, of course!^^

Shagrath showed off the big basket full of assorted eggs.

Oh wow!! Okay well I will meet you outside in just a moment...

I closed the door and quickly dressed, pondering if I should wear my pretty lilac corsage, or if we would go do campaign operations... or a host of other things when I heard Sha-chan from outside my door again.

Coming Kiamo?

Oh yes! Oh, are we going to go to Campaign later?

Sure, if you like! Just come outside so I can trade you these eggs.

Before heading out, I began checking and watering the three little tree saplings I had growing. How cute they are!
They started off just looking like twisted twigs. As the days went by, a few tiny green leaves appeared.
Now one of the saplings looked like an itty-bitty bush with tiny pink buds just starting to form.

Kiamo?

Yes Sha-chan? I was just checking on my plants. Would you like to come in and see them?

Certainly! But would you come out and trade me first? I need to give you these eggs.

Oh! Right!

I fixed the lilac corsage that Mishi had given me some time ago into my chestnut locks and skipped outside.
Where I found Mishi herself! ^_^ And Ghrenn as well!

Hi there Mishi-moon! Hi there Ghrenn!

Hi mars-Kia teehe!

Hey there Kia!

So did you guys get any new rewards for making egg combinations?

I sure did! I got that one with the eyes peeking out.

Oh right, Mishi! I got that one also-- It's like a creepy stalker egg!

Mine was screaming last nght! Like a clucking cry or something. I thought I was going crazy until Ghrenn said her's did the same exact thing!

Mmm, it did. Weird thing.

Oh gosh!! I'm not sure if mine does that. I faced it toward the wall because... well those glowing eyes gave me the crrreeps! Hehe! Do you guys want to come in and see if mine will cry also?

Okay yeah!

Kiamo!!

Yes, Sha-chan? :3

What about the eggs I have for you?

Oh! Well just a moment Sha-chan. Mishi and Ghrenn are checking that egg with the eyes...

We three filed into my mog house. I turned the egg away from the wall. It stared at us for a little while.
When it blinked I jumped!
Of course Mishi and Ghrenn giggled at me!
While we waited, Ghrenn noticed that the Clockwork Egg kept perfect time!
We quietly sat on the rug, just out of sight of the egg with the eyes, our ears alert for any noise it might make.
And what do you know! The thing began making a cluck-squalking sound!
We all fell into a fit of laughter!

Kiamo?! Will you please come trade me? I have some more eggs for you so you can get the other items.

Ack! Hehe... Sorry Sha-chan! I keep getting sidetracked!

Mishi, Ghrenn and I shared sideways glances and hearty giggles before skipping off to meet Shagrath at the event moogle.

In the end, my mog house got several new decorations.
Hatchling Egg, that is the creepy one that cries.
Melodious Egg, which plays music. Adorable! ^_^
Clockwork Egg.
Egg Locker, Egg Table, Egg Stool and Egg Lantern. These combine into the Egg Buffet!
I also have a Jeweled Egg that Big Brother Wolf purchased for me! <3 It is really gorgeous! Thank you to everyone who helped!! =^_^= Especially Shagrath, because I know you were just collecting eggs while I was doing other things... Which you really didn't have to do ^_^;; [/blush] <3

Bead Necklaces

Apr 15, 2009

In order to get Nana to like me enough to send good word of me to Norg (so I might be trusted to quest ninja scrolls there), I had to collect Yagudo Bead Necklaces for her.
I've brought her quite a few, but not quite enough.
So the other day, I suited up Thief and made my way to Giddeus.
I was doing pretty well so I decided to head into one of the tunnels to look for more beastmen.
I was pondering something... Not really paying attention to my footfalls when...
I landed in a heap, dirt dust flying up around me.
Immediately the worms looked in my direction and began casting stone, bind.. etc.
I ran.
Their spells hit, but I managed to resist bind.
Without benefit of a sneak enchantment, the nearby Yagudo detected me and came running.
All of them.
Soon, I was face first in the dirt. I was barely conscious enough to send a distress call to Ghrenn.

Lucky for me, she wasn't busy and came out to help me.
Such is the way of a brave Paladin!

Ghrenn cast raise on me after slaying all the near by Yagudo and bees.
She then started fights with ALL the Yagudo in the place to ensure I could get out unharmed!

What a sight! There she was, aglow in her white paladin armor in a sea of black feathers!
My Hero!
(Here are some pictures, see if you can pick out Ghrenn hehe)

My First Time: Assault

Apr 15, 2009

After making that delivery for Naja... Who, by the way, is horrid and conniving!

You know she went and asked me to write my name down and flipped up some pieces of parchment...
Foreign names are hard to remember, she said...
I showed her kindness and printed: K i a m o...
What does she do next... show me a "signed contract"!!
What a backstabbing larcenist!

I immediately stormed out of her office.
Being in an angry huff, I didn't see Shagrath as I rounded the corner.

Kia... Hey Kia!!

He grabbed my arm and the look of anger I shot at him, presuming he was one of Naja's cronies, was venomous.
Once I realized who it was, I relaxed into a broad grin straight away.

Oh! Hi there Sha-chan!

What's the matter Kia?

He held his grasp on my arm as he asked this.

Oh that sneaky Naja!! I hate her she--

Got you to sign a contract?

Yes!! She's a bad example of a Mithra! She ought to have her tail bobbed!

Kia! That's a bit drastic, don't you think?

No... Seems fair to me... Conniving fiend.

Well let's just forget about her! How about we do assault? Wolf isn't busy. He can join us.

I nodded in agreement, and Shagrath led me off in the direction of the Commissions Agency, still keeping hold of my arm.
For that I was glad. Many, many people bustled about. I couldn't help but look around at every thing and every one. I thought Jeuno was a busy place, but it paled in comparison to Whitegate.
The shouting of the crowd was still quite annoying as well.
It seemed as though people thought they were the only person around. Or the most important person in the whole city.
Along the way I was bumped into and jostled. Shagrath lost his hold of my arm for a moment.
Fearful we might get separated, I looped my left arm through his right and even laid my right hand on his shoulder.

Little mithra in the big city. {/panic}!

Shagrath introduced me to Rytaal, who gave me an Imperial Army I.D. Tag.
When big brother Wolf arrived, I was introduced to Bhoy Yhupplo who told me about a golden figurehead.
Off we three went to Ilrusi Atoll to search for the artifact.

Once there, Shagrath set off with Lobo to find the real chest in a slew of mimics.
Wolf and I spotted a few chests and Shagrath said we could try to check them.
Wolf shot one, but it was a mimic! I tried to sleep it, not knowing that they can not be slept!
That put all its attention on me and I was drawn in.
It thwarted all my attempts to escape with the same move! ; ;
In a show of chivalry, Wolf started to fight the mimic so I could get away.
Sadly, he was knocked out for his efforts.
I used my tractor spell to bring him to me. I wanted to avoid the chest attacking us again.
Just as I cast raise on Wolf, Shagrath found the real chest!

Win! =^_^=

Enveloped in Darkness

Apr 11, 2009

I raced on choco-back to San d'Oria.
Chateau d'Oraguille was my destination this day.
As I was winding my way along the path, an Orc leaped out of nowhere, spooking the bird.
My mount jumped and beat its wings in a frightened flurry of feathers.
It was all I could do to keep from sliding out of the saddle.
I managed to calm the bird, but no matter which way I tried to go, the Orc insisted on blocking my path.

What do you want?! I finally shouted, frustrated.
It spread it's froggy fingers and grabbed hold of the chocobo reigns, ensuring I would not escape easily.
Then it growled something at me...

Me Stubbbuk Cherrygodd. You took what me want. Fight. This you.

The Orc handed me a muddy, poorly treated piece of animal hide.
I inspected the rudimentary drawing.
Two stick figures. The larger was sticking a sword into the smaller one, which had some resemblance of a tail.
I couldn't help but chuckle at the attempt to intimidate me. I wasn't a quivvering new Red Mage anymore.
Just then Sha-chan rode up along side me.

Kiamo, what do you have there?

An invitation to brawl, I believe.

I handed the hide over to Shagrath. He looked it over and shook his head.

You aren't going to, are you.

Well why not? It's just some Orc from Ghelsba Outpost. I can take it.

That's not the point, Kia. There is simply no need for you to fight it.

But--

Orc, release her chocobo this instant.

Me Stubbbuk Cherrygodd. Girl be taking. Fight NOW!

You challenge her for sheer malice. She will not participate in such an act, for she has done nothing to you. Zoriace will be along shortly. Should he find you harassing adventurer's he will report that to the guards. Do you want a swarm of San d'Oria's knights to descend upon you?

With a defiant grunt, Stubbuk Cherrygodd released my chocobo's reigns and lumbered away.

Shagrath... Why can't I--

He pressed a finger to his lips and shook his head.
I pointed to the hide with the drawing he held in his hands.
Shagath grinned slyly at me and pressed his heels into the chocobo's flanks. His mount squaked and took off at a blazing pace toward Sand d'Oria.

Don't you need to speak to Curilla!!

I gave chase, but was not able to catch up to Shagrath.
He did wait for me inside. Where I found he had "misplaced" the hide I had surrendered to him.

We walked to the Chateau d'Oraguille in silence.
I went in and spoke with Curilla while Shagrath waited in the antichamber.
She gave me an old pocket watch and sent me to pray at the Cathedral.

What I did not know is that the priest there expected me to donate a piece of Velvet Cloth before I was allowed to pray!
Shagrath fetched me one and while I was praying for lost souls all over the realm a spirit appeared unto me.
It actually handed me a pair of old boots!!!
I tried to explain the incident to the Priest, but he kicked me out! How absurd.
The more I talk to these men, the more I wonder on my religious convictions.

I went and told Curilla about what I had seen and showed her the boots. She told me to take them to the Crawler's Nest and find a chest that contained Crawler Blood, then bury the boots and the blood in a sacred spot to purify them.
I thought it was an odd request, but Shagrath and I headed out to the nest anyway.
We left for the night after I had buried the items together.

The next day, I ventured out alone to see what had become of the shoes.
I found a pair of brand new Warlock's Boots!
When I took them to show Curilla she insisted that I keep them!

Elegance Arrives

Apr 09, 2009

KUPO!!! KIAMO!!! I have exciting news!!

That is wonderful Sarima! I'm all ears!

He's HERE Kuopopiieee!!

Who's here? Shagrath?

No no kupo! him!!

Urthdigger??!! No way would he travel all the way to this realm! That's wonderful!

No no kupoie!! Edwyth!

EDWYTH!!! NO WAY!!

I couldn't help but let out a little squee of excitement when Sarima finally delivered the news.
Edwyth, of the show Elegantly Edwyth, was now in this very realm of Leviahtan!!

Not only that, Kupo, but I have a letter for you also!

A letter? Will this one be going up in a poof of streamers? Hehe.

Kupono! It is from Edwyth for you Kiamo! But I think that other person who likes writing you notes is still stalking around, kuopieieee!

Oh stop Sarima, you're so silly! Edwyth wouldn't send me private word! No way! ...wait- who's stalking?

Kuopopopo!! Who cares! Here read!

Sarima spun in a giddy whirl as I snatched the note from her mits.
It was on textured parchment with gold leaf trim and sealed with wax that was stamped with an E that had curls and swirls coming off of it.

I carefully cracked open the elegant seal and read the fancy lettering on the message held within.

SARIMA!!! He invited me and a guest to his yacht!!

Who will you take?

Do.. You want to go, Sarima?

Kupono! Kupoieieiee, take Sha-chan!

Oh! Yes of course! Hehe!

Shagrath was glad to be invited, but I think my chattering about Edwyth was ever so slightly getting on his nervs.
We finally arrived at the dock where the yacht sat.
Ed's house Moogle met us and escorted us inside.

While on our visit, Ed asked me to be a guest on one of his shows!!
I gleefully agreed and he handed me a rundown of the topics we would cover.

After the exciting visit, Shagrath and I headed back to Windurst.
My heart was pounding!
Clutched in my hand was my official guest invite with the day and time the show was to be recorded.

And now... a really random "comic" I quickly concocted after talking to Ed one evening.
It probably won't make sense, but I thought I would share it anyway hehe! :3
And yes, the hair/face is wrong. I was working on some other things at the same time and while trying to work out the pose, forgot to fix the face! XD hehe

The Last Coin

Wed Apr 08, 2009

Kupo Kiamo! I have a threatening message for you!

Oh do you now, Sarima?

Yes Kia, here!

More of the same?

It is Kiki.

I couldn't help but giggle.

I don't have time for such trifling things.

Sarima giggled, too as she lit up little piece of parchment with Mooglefire. It glowed bright blue and then fizzled out.
For an added touch, a trail of brightly colored streamers burst out of the destroyed note and drifted to the ceiling where they faded.
I had better things to do then entertain idol threats.
It was time to meet Sha-chan, Mishi and Ghrenn.
Our chosen adventure for the evening was to obtain a Scroll of Retrace.

All set Kia?

As... set as I'll ever be. Mishi, I hate Maw Travel!

Kiamo! Hehe, I don't like it either, but eventually it's not so bad.

You're right... I just have to stop being such a child about it!

What? You mean you don't enjoy moist hot breath all over you?

Sha-chan!!!! >_<; What?! I was just... asking... Shagrath!! Really! She's being really good about it.

I stuck my little pink tongue out at Sha-chan and scampered after Mishi and Ghrenn.
We hopped through the Maw in Sarutabaruta and made our way to Windurst Waters [S].
Once at the Rhinostery, we were given a task. We had to take a Mythril Beastcoin to Giddeus.
Giddeus in the present!!

Back through the Maw.

Once in Giddeus we hunted down Quu Bokye and gave him the coin for a Leather-bound Book.
Of course this was only the beginning.
Next we had to travel to Castle Oztroja (S). All its inhabitants were MUCH stronger in the past.
Each one of us made sure we were able to keep sneak and invisible enchantments up on our own.
This leg of the trip required us to find a Lynx Pelt somewhere in the castle.
Of course when we found it, there were three or four Yagudo in the immediate vicinity!
We all patiently waited for them to not be looking in our general direction so we could swoop in and grab the pelt.
While we were waiting, I couldn't help but wonder why Sha-chan was not concerned about grabbing a pelt.

Sha-chan...

Yes, Kia?

You know how you told me you got the last coin from the auction house?

Aye.

Tell me you meant that it was the last one after you got yours.

He shook his head no.

It was... the only one.

You mean... you came out here for nothing?

I came to help.

But... You said you needed the scroll... Sha-chan... I could have done this another time and--

Kia, no frowning. It's quite all right.

I will give you mine.

You will do no such thing.

Sha-!! why NOT?!

Kia shhh... The Yagudo will hear you. I can not fight them all at once.

I pursed my lip and glared at Shagrath. My fists clenched tight into the pelt. I knew he meant well, but he certainly did not have to give me the only coin he had.
I secretly made it my priority to acquire one for him as quick as I could.

After we were all safely out of Castle Oztroja (S), I announced to Mishi and Ghrenn what Shagrath had done.
They thought nothing of it and simple grinned.
Just Shagrath being helpful as always.

While we had been on our adventure, one of the linkshell members was squawking about how they would not go help anybody in Windurst Waters.
How they would leave them stranded there.
My companions chortled at the absurd comment, stating it was clearly directed at us.
I wondered how we could possibly get stranded in Windurst Waters.
Then again, why should I be surprised. After all, they do say some pretty weird things sometimes.

He's hard to miss! He has on the T-shirt that says "if found return to Kia!"
haha {mistake}

HAHAHA!!

LOL

Huh?

What is that all about?

Nothing, Ghrenn. It's meant to be a dig on me. But I care not of their opinions of me.

You have a T-shirt with my name on it, Sha-chan? Hehe that is so cute! =^_^=

No Kia, I don't. Haha!

Oh... ; ;

Aww Kia, we could have some shirts made or something?

No Mishi, we don't have to do that hehe.

As promised, Sha-chan refused to take my scroll. So instead I ran about checking every bazaar I could find.
Altana smiled upon me, for I found one Mythril Beastcoin.
I set to hunting down Sha-chan.

What's this you are trying to give me Kia?

Just hold out your hand please!!

He did and I pressed the coin into it, hard.

Kia, you didn't have to do that...

I know... but you do a lot for me. I couldn't do nothing.

We sat for a little while before Sha-chan spoke up again.

Kiamo...

Yes Sha-chan?

I... You know I just want you to be happy, right?

I guess. I mean... why else would you help me. Though I often wonder, would you do the same thing if it were for Ghrenn or Mishi.

Of course I would. I would for any of my close friends.

Even for...

Yes.

I see. Well I'm off to bed now.

I was tired from the adventures of the day. I just wanted to water my little sapling and curl up under the covers.
As I was at my door Sha-chan called for me-

Wait! Kia wait!

Wha--?

With that Sha was beside me and swept me up into a tight hug.
I was utterly shocked and drew in a sharp breath.
Immediately his scent filled my senses.
How is it he is able to always smell so good...

Kiamo. I would give you the last of anything I had. You're my friend. Don't ever feel bad about that.

But... It isn't right for people to pick on you for your kindness!

I know, but that does not bother me.

Why not stick up for yourself Shagrath?

Because there is no need. People spout unkind things out of jealousy. I will never deny my fondness for you Kiamo.

You-- Shagrath just stop it! Stop dropping everything when I come around. I'm perfectly capable of doing things on my own!

Kiamo..? You don't want go on adventures with me anymore? I don't understand-

No-- it's... Sha... Sha-chan of course I do but...

Kiamo. Listen. Listen to me.

He hugged me even tighter. I wanted to resist. I wanted to scream at him.
But I couldn't. Of course I could not.

Kiamo. You know if it were not for you...

I know Sha-chan.

So please, don't worry about me. And please don't stop adventuring with me. I want to be by your side. If you'll let me.

My ear brushed up against his chin as I nodded.

It wouldn't be an adventure without you there, Sha-chan.

I'll never let you go, never abandon you.

Suddenly then- I couldn't help but think of my mother.
Though... I don't think she abandoned me. Not of her own will.
Still. It was hard not to think of it that way sometimes.

Minotaur Shouting = {No Thanks!}

Apr 01, 2009

It seems truly impossible to get a steady six together!
The same four: Shagrath, Mishi, Ghrenn and myself met up in Jeuno.
We were going to face a creature in the Phomiuna Aqueducts, but we needed more then the four of us!
Shagrath asked around in Whitegate for aid. He got quick replies.
At first I took this as a good sign.

I was mistaken.

The first person, a Blue Mage seemed like a nice man.
However, his friend who was a Galka Dark Knight was the OPPOSITE.
While in Jeuno I repeated that we would need silent oil and antidotes for the battle that lay ahead.
Mishi, Sha-chan and Ghrenn all said they had the items. The Blue Mage did also.
The Dark Knight just stared at me as though I was speaking in foreign tongue and guffawed.
I rolled my eyes and made my way through Qufim island with the others.
As we were nearing Misareaux Coast, the Galka asked if it would be a problem if he had not faced the trials in promyvion.
I explained that it would be a problem, as he would not be able to find the way to Tavnazian Safehold.
His Blue Mage friend told me that the Galka was lying to be funny.

I don't see how that is humorous in any way.

We all arrived in the safehold, and were joined by an Elvaan Blue Mage, a Summoner and Hana-san.
Shortly after, while we were waiting inside the aqueducts, the Elvaan Blue Mage went and got himself knocked out...
I sighed... I would rather not do this at all, then have to deal with such fools.
But the people of Tavnazia needed us to address this foul creature... so plod on I must.

The Minotaur has an ability that will pull you to where it is, if someone you are grouped with stumbles upon it.
I volunteered to go, since I was able to use magic for re-raise and sneak enchantments.
However, Shagrath would not permit me to do so- Sighting all the other possible monsters that waited to pounce me on the way.
I didn't really want to argue with him, so I let him do as he pleased.
He wouldn't even let me join him. I would probably be a liability.

Instead I busied myself setting protection enchantments on the group, as well as blink and stoneskin on myself.

After a time, Shagrath discovered the Minotaur and in the blink of an eye--- it was right before me!
I quickly moved several paces away and turned my back to it so Mortal ray could not inflict me.
Something I had made the entire group aware of before we headed out.
Those that bothered to listen, that is.

Of course, the Galka died to mortal ray.

It was very important that we all get out of the immediate area after defeating it.
So once we did, I raced down the pathway and around a corner and cried for everyone to do the same.
They actually did and we continued on.

All the while, one of our linkshell members was beckoning my group to join her for a training party.
As if we didn't have enough distractions to begin with!

We made our way through the rest of the aqueducts.
Shagrath had told the group that he would let Lobo get the attention of the true-sight monsters.
That way, he could release Lobo and we would all be free and clear to run along.
His words were NOT heeded by everyone.
The rest would just start fighting, fight two at once or simply cop a squat right where the Tarus would return to!

It was probably one of the more frustrating outings I had been a part of in my young adventuring career.
No matter how rude or ill prepared some of the group members were, I still did not wish to see any of them fall in battle!
Yet they insisted on putting themselves in harms way.

I nearly used my warp spell just to get away from them all.
And to end the incessant harping of the linkshell member who wanted Hana, Ghrenn and Sha-chan for training.
Even when we explained we were having a hard time with the extra members co-operating, it continued.

It was Mishi who grabbed my hand and stood against a wall with me.
She spoke softly, but her words never missed my ears.
As we whispered, Shagrath appeared.
He beckoned me to go through the door Mishi and I were standing beside.

Sha- I don't care. I don't care anymore. We defeated the creature they asked us to defeat. I'm tired.
Tired of ill-prepared fools.
Tired of ill-will.

Kia... please, just through this door. Come with me, okay?

I scowled.
Mishi squeezed my hand and we followed Shagrath.

The rest was a blur.

Once back at Tavnazian Safehold, I told Justinius of what we had done.
Then I met Prishe as she returned from some outing or the other.
What a foul mouth this child has!

She bid me to meet her in her chambers later on.
I would, but first some much needed rest!

Frigid Fight

Mar 31, 2009

Papers littered my table.
"Black Mage Training"
"Red Mage Training"
"Red Mage Gear"
"Red Mage Spells"
"Unfinished Quest Requests"
"Wedding Guest List"
"Windurst Missions"

Shoot... I was supposed to go speak with the Star Sibyl!!

I was so tired, though. I rested my forehead on the desk, rolling the quill absentmindedly with my left hand...

Kiki that is no place to rest you know, kupo!

Mmmm...

Adventuring got you down, master?

No... I just have so much to do. I don't know where to start!

You should probably not keep the Star Sibyl wating, Kupo.

Aye..

I looked over the mission papers I had, folded them up and went to Heaven's Tower.
Apparently there was a seal in Fei'Yin that might be losing its potency.

I sent word to Shagrath, seeking his aid.

Later on, he had a group gathered.
The group consisted of Shagrath, Big Brother Wolf, Mishi and Ghrenn.

I was not dressed for such a cold climate! The others were fine, but I shivered the entire way!
Eventually we had to face Archlich Taber'quoan and its skeleton minions!
At first, he didn't seem to pose much of a threat, but then all of a sudden it was as though there was no end to the minions!
I ended up running circles around the small arena until the others defeated Archlich.
By now I knew better then to try to sleep them, and even when I tried to gravity them, I kept getting hit. It was easier to just keep running!
Afterward, I gathered the burnt seal and took it to Star Sybil.
She told me that it was written in the stars that I was destined to journey to Castle Zvahl.
I would bear witness to the fate of our world.

Was I really ready for this?
I didn't have time to decide. Shagrath, Mishi, Ghrenn and Wolf were all waiting for me.
Back to the snow drifts for me.

There was a beautiful rainbow glow escaping from between the openings of snow and ice covered rock that made up the path to the castle.
It beckoned us as it glittered and danced.
How adverse such beauty was to what we would face inside.

The castle is a gathering place for all manner of beastmen.
There were one-eyed creatures, fat like a pear, that worked their small wings hard to stay in flight.
As well as demons that would gang up on us if we were detected.

I was so tired it took all my whits just to keep up with them.
The chill that invaded every part of my body made it all the worse.

Once inside the castle we had to take these teleport... platforms- I suppose they were?

Finally we made it to our destination... and faced a grave creature that called itself: Shadow Lord.

My reward for this adventure was Rank 6
(As well as a nice sum of gil, which I needed badly!)

Crystal War

Mar 26, 2009

Kia when do you want to go to the past with me and join the Windurstian Army?

Oh-- well... Don't I need to be a bit stronger for that?

Not at all. And there are some nice rewards. You should think about starting now to attain them.

I.. suppose...

Well, of course if you do not want to, we can do something else.

But I had promised I would go. That I would sign up.
That I would join him in Campaign Battle.

First Shagrath took me to Shadowreign Era Crawler's Nest.
There I met a taru who gave me a Letter of Recommendation and instructed me to give the letter to Mia Riyuh.

We made our way to Windurst in the Shadowreign Era.
I spoke with Miah Riyuh and she got very snippy with me! Then set me on a task to fix cracks with some silly-named putty to prove my worth.
It seemed a very silly way to do so, but I went out and did it anyway. I didn't want to disappoint Shagrath. He seems to quite enjoy doing this "campaign" thing.
For my effort, I was given a pair of red boots that enabled me to sometimes run quicker. Pretty handy! Plus they look really cute with my other red attire! :3
I was also given a Bronze Ribbon of Service, which I folded up and stowed in my belt.

Now let me find us somewhere to battle!

Okay...

By this time I was getting a little tired and just trailing a pace or two behind Shagrath.
We first went... to Garlaige Citadel I think?
It was quite different, no holes in the floor or crumbling walls and staircases.
I felt a little silly when I realized I was unable to read the posters tacked up on the walls. {/blush}

When we got to where people were fighting, and I got "tags" I saw a demon and some hovering dark elements.
Shagrath got the attention of one of them and we began to fight it.
My sword swings did nothing.
My spells did barely anything.
At one point I tried to cast Dia and it got resisted!
So I stuck to the odd cure here and there.
Eventually the battle ended and any remaining beasts warped themselves away.

Then Shagrath led me to Batallia Downs.
I had to get a set of "tags" from a man there in order to participate in any battle... but since the area was not under attack, he had no tags.
Ghrenn joined us, as well as a taru who was in the area.
Then Shagrath got some bombs which he placed at the base of some of the walls.
We waited until they exploded and then did the same thing to a different wall.
After that we went back to Windurst and then went out to Fort Karugo-Narugo.

A battle was going on there, but everyone was just waking away at the fortification.
I wasn't sure what to do but Shagrath insisted I join in also.
I did and at that very moment the Yagudo attacked and knocked me out so fast I barely realized what had happened.

Someone raised me and I ran and hid away from the fortification.
Again, Shagrath insisted I would be safe and to start trying to weaken the wall.
So I nervously walked back up to it, and drew my sword.
Moments later... Yagudo attacked!
I was knocked out again. Raised again. Hid again.

I was pretty sure I didn't like campaign by this point.
Just then Edwyth, of Limit Break Radio's Elegantly Edwyth, sent me private word.
He and his entourage were moving to Leviathan!!
I was excited to finally meet him, and that he bothered to send little mithra me a message!

Once again, Shagrath insisted it was safe for me to go fight again.
I didn't really want to, and my feeling was right!!!
Though this time, after I was revived the battle ended. Also that time, Shagrath was knocked out. =p Hehe!
Of course I raced to raise him, and all was well.

I don't know how soon I will be doing that again... I would really like to wait until I am stronger.
Perhaps there are other things to do in the past besides the battles.

Kiamo Camps: Quicksand Caves

Mar 25, 2009

I woke up bright and early!
Initially, I pondered training Black Mage, but then I remembered how I badly needed to update my Red Mage attire.
My funds were low after purchasing several spells.

I'm flat broke Sarima!

Well Kiki... maybe the citizens of Windurst will reward you for doing some tasks for them?

Oh true! While I am out and about, I will also check in with the star onion brigade kids.

Apparently they had gotten themselves into a heap of trouble.
Mana orb... Nanaa Mihgo... Honoi-Gomoi... Ahhhh!
Since they had given me a Bouncer Club for helping them the last time... And because this seemed a bigger problem then children should get into, I decided to go fetch a Star Spinel on their behalf. Perhaps this would appease Honoi.

In the meantime Mishi had joined me in WIndurst. ^_^

Mishi-moon! I need to fetch a Star Spinel.

Oh? Where do those come from?

I will have to look it up...

I cracked open my magical giant book, "All things Vana'diel" by Wikia Clopedia

Okay it looks like something called Spelunking Sabotender carry them. They live in the Quicksand Caves. I don't think I can fight them, though. Can you help me Mishi-moon?

Sure, Kia-- but how strong are they? I'm not that strong you know.

Oh come on, nothing a couple of Red Mages can't handle! Right?

Umm...

Okay, I will also ask the linkshell!

Eden!!

Kia!! I haven't seen you in a while.

Indeed! I have been adventuring and training a lot lately. Speaking of...

Oh have you? :)

Eden, Mishi and I are in need of a brave Paladin to face Spelunking Sabotender in Quicksand caves! Certainly you can prrrrotect us! =^_^=

Haha, sure. I'll meet you two in jeuno

Just then Lucky piped up and wanted to come also!
Yay! This was going to be grand fun!
Mishi and I met Eden in Jeuno. Just as we did Sha-chan arrived as well to join us.
Lucky was already out in the desert with his friend Tsu.

We all met up in the caves and began to battle with the strange cactus creatures.
After a while Tsu announced that there was an Antican NM roaming around.
Eden wanted to fight it.
I was slightly reserved, being not quite as experienced as the others.
Eden re-assured me and Tsu brought the beast!
Proconsul XII

The fight wasn't too bad and when we slew it, we discovered it had been carrying a Dainslaif, Adaman Ore, two Iron Ore and an Antican Pauldron.
Hurray! =^_^=
Eden got the sword and they let me have the Adaman Ore. Someone else {/blush} I forget who--!!! needed the Iron ore. ^_^
The fight was pretty fun! Except when I was a bit too close and was afflicted with something that caused me to be unable to cast magic.

We continued fighting the cactus and after a short time Tsu announced that now another NM had appeared!
Sabotender Bailarina
There was quite a discussion about what to do.
Sha-chan began it.

I've heard that a highly skilled group of six well trained adventurer's can bring it down.

Well, Sha-chan, we are pretty skilled but two of us are certainly not as well trained as you, Eden, Mishi and Tsu.

What?! I'm not well trained Kia-

Mishi! Yes you are stop talking like that or I'll pop you with that Bouncer Club I gave you! Eeehe.

Well as a Paladin, I see a NM and I want to fight it.

What about big brother? What is he doing Sha-chan? Can he help us, maybe bring a friend of two?

I will ask him Kia.

Guys... I'm sorry I need to get going.

Aww Mishi-moon. Okay.

Good luck!

Thank you!!

Okay Wolf will come. Bye Mishi^^

See you later Mishi!!

Nice to meet you Mishi!

Take care Mishi-moon :3

Wolf came alone and was certain Eden, Shagrath, Lucky, Tsu and I could handle the monster.
I was a little worried, but vowed to do my best.
I set enchantments on everyone and Tsu brought the creature to us.
The fight was epic!
I tried to keep the refresh enchantment on Eden and Wolf at all times.
Eden needed it because he was our brave Paladin. Wolf was Blue Mage.
They both were amazing!
Sha-chan set his automation to help with healing.
Tsu, who was Beastmaster, had set a scorpion to attack. Sadly it died due to all the 1,000 needles attacks the Sabotender Bailarina kept using.
Then a big spider showed up out of no where and slew Lucky before I could even attempt to do anything about it! ; ;
I think Tsu charmed the nasty spider, but I was too busy re-casting my stoneskin and blink enchantments after more 1,000 needles attacks.

Several times Eden and Wolf's health got scary low! I was afraid they were going to get knocked out.
But no matter what, I kept using all my magic and abilities to keep them alive!
I knew if something happened to one, the other would probably not last long.
Everyone was taking a beating... Eden and Wolf were looking ragged!!
Tsu and Shagrath were, too. Lucky was trying to keep out of harms way while in a weakened state from that darn spider.
I was curing as fast as I could, but it looked like it wouldn't be enough.
Just as I was contemplating using my special abilities convert and chainspell and then just throwing out cures, knowing full well the monster would come straight for me...

It fell!
The party erupted in cheers!!
I was so excited that four really powerful and two not so powerful adventurer's had persevered!
We found that Sabotender Bailarina had been carrying Dune Boots, which we gave to Wolf.

Much, much later we finally found a Star Spinel on one of the Spelunking Sabotender.
Lucky needed one also, but everyone agreed to come back another time to get him one.
We were all pooped!
