Sure I'm new to the game, a "noobie". BAH! I was hoping to escape that tag by learning all I could from the magical wiki- oracle of information! :D
So far only that little Tarutaru in the Star Onion Brigade has called me noobie.
It is kind of lonley, not knowing anyone in all of Vana'diel, but with time that will be fixed.
So far I have managed to accomplish quite a bit on my mini-adventures =D
Quite a few quests, which I keep track of here: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/User:Kiamoko
Wiki User Page is pretty handy for that, plus it was fun to figure out the templates for the boxes.
I would really like to approach this with a flare for "Role Play" since this is an RPG. I don't know how into that I want to/should get. I do know I want to keep Real Life and the life of KiamoKo separate. After all, I play to wind down from a day of "real life" :p not recount/relive it.
I had a grand adventure the other night!
I was looking at the price of beds at the Auction House since I do not have one yet for my mog house. Let me tell you, sleeping on the rug is not comfy after a day of slaying beasts! Darn if the beds for sale weren't more gil then I could spare! (or even had for that matter)
I made mention of this and a Hume fellow near by explained that they were for a Mog House Expansion quest.
He offered to craft me one if I could provide the materials. The first few were easy... but the ingots I couldn't find anywhere in Windurst!
After a little information gathering, I found out I could forge them myself with beastcoins, so that will be an on-going quest as I attempt to Level up Red Mage.
In the midst of our chat, the Hume fellow offered to take me to the telepoint crystals.
We traveled to Tahrongi Canyon, then on into Buburimu Peninsula and finally to Mhaura where we hopped the ship to Selbina.
While on the ship Pirates attacked! MY guide instructed me to stay on the steps to be safe. I didn't want to take any chances, even though he had told me if anything bad happened, he could Raise me... I hid in the steering room!
From that vantage point I could easily watch the melee taking place below, while remaining out if eye/ear shot of the pirates. Undead pirates at that! The ship was crawling with Skeletons. Fortunately they didn't stick around too long, the other adventurers must have really been giving them a beating! =D
Finally we arrived in Selbina without further incident.
Next my guide took me through Valkurm Dunes and into Konschtat Highlands, where we picked up my second telepoint crystal.
On the way I spied what looked like a REALLY BIG sheep. I started to approach and exclaimed to my guide what I had seen. He quickly stopped me saying, "That will KILL YOU!" I was a little upset, because I wanted to see it up close... I've never seen such a thing in all my life! But I didn't want to bring any undo hardship upon us.
By then I was soooooooooo very sleepy from all the walking and sight seeing. My guide cast a Warp spell on me. Wow! What a handy spell! I found my self deposited right outside my mog house no worse for the ware. (okay I was a little dizzy, certainly was not expecting it!)
I slept well that night, bed or not!
