I was feeling somewhat uneasy, but glad that Shagrath had honored the plans we had made.
My back up plan for the evening was to hunt sheep in La Theine Plateau, I had a stack of wind crystals with me.
As I was eying up an unsuspecting sheep, Shagrath raced up on a chocobo and dismounted beside me.
He then slew the sheep and we made our way to the cave. I was pretty sure I remembered the way there. Inside what a whole other story!
I was somewhat tired from the weeks events and stresses and quietly tailed Shagrath as he led us around and down and up again.
So do you want to try for all three patterns tonight?
Oh, only if you don't have anything else to attend. I know we had talked about meeting your brother later, so I don't want to dally too long here.
I promised you I would help tonight, I'm not going anywhere.
Well, we'll see how long it takes to get the key and find the chest.
We got a key very quickly! It took a little longer to find the chest, but luckily no one else was looking for it.
I opened it and received a Magical Pattern!

This time, we immediately found the chest. It was in a room with a hole and 2 sets of bats. I waited there, making sure to keep my sneak enchantment up just in case the bats got too close. Shagrath went on ahead and killed monsters that would drop the key.
So there I waited. Guardian of the Chest.
There really isn't much to look at in that part of the limestone caves. Just the sound of the bats flapping their wings... lulling me to sleep.
I leaned up against the wall, tracing imaginary drawings with my finger on the floor.
Then I adjusted the laces on my new gaiters. Flexed my toes. Stretched my legs. Stood up and reached skyward, opening fingers wide, then let my arms fall to my sides.

I whisked away to Jeuno with the aid of a scroll of warp and traded the pattern for a Savage Loincloth, which really just looked like a pair of red panties! :/

The clock was ticking, I leaped off the telepad and ran for the chocobo trainer next to it. I urged the bird to run its full speed as we raced toward the cave.
Kia!! I found the chest!! Now all we need is a key.

Remember that room you were just in? Well from there you would just drop down and it is in the room underneath. Do you remember how to get back to the room you were waiting in?

I was at the cave and ran in. I remembered to take my first left, but after that things sort of looked the same.
I tried hard to follow Shagrath's directions. Darting this way and that, putting up sneak and invisible enchantments. My heart was pounding.
Then the key dropped!! I quickly grabbed it from the treasure pool as I rounded a bend and ran down another hall... where there was a small room with bats... and a hole... This must be it!! I closed my eyes and jumped.
Okay I jumped down, Sha-chan. Now what?
Look around. It should be there.

I spun around. My heart was thudding so hard it nearly knocked the wind out of me.
Frantic, with literally SECONDS left, I scanned the room.
There... a few paces away sat the little brown chest.
And a Goblin, facing away.
And some dancing weapon being fought by a Paladin that I did not know.
I gulped... 5 seconds.
I bounded toward the chest... 4 seconds...3...
I dropped my invisible enchantment and fumbled with the key in the lock...2 seconds...
