It was a beautiful day for fishing in Windurst while seeking a party.
After a time, someone invited me to join them for some training.
However, they wanted me to meet them in Aht Urhgan.
I had been there before, but didn't enjoy the experience so much. As a result, of course I did not set my "home point" there.
The quickest way I knew of to get there was via the ship from Mhaura, which wasn't at all quick.
I let the party leader know, and they were perfectly okay with it! ^_^
Fortunately I could get to Mhaura fairly fast.
Once I arrived, I didn't have long to wait for the ship!
I was glad for that, but not too thrilled to be going back to Aht Urhgan.
So loud, so many strange smells and oh so many people!
I found myself wishing Sha-chan was beside me, but alas, this journey I would make alone.
...I really shouldn't rely on him for so much. Even if just a travel companion.
The ship departed, and I seated myself comfortably in the steering house.
From this vantage point, I could watch the scenery, peer at the map and perhaps chat with the captain.
There was no one else on this voyage for me to strike up conversation with.
I found this to be a little odd. Why wouldn't there be more passengers to such a popular city?
While studying the map, I heard clamoring on the deck.
As I leaned forward to catch a glimpse of what was causing the noise, my gaze met that of a hulking skeleton!
It bellowed at me as it floated up toward the steering house window.
Ye slew mi cous'n. I'ull have mi rarvange upon ye!
I'ull git ye fur brakfest, ys stupid, fat mithra! Yarr! Bukbeard the Cherry Picker 'ull narvur let it go!
What? Fat? Did you really call me fat?
Don't worry little mithra, there is a magical veil around the steering house. That old, sloppy Buckbead the Cherrypicker can not gain entry.
Oh- Well that's good to know...
Yar!! I are talkin ta you there stupid lass. Cint ya hear meh thru yir thick head?
I cocked my brow and chuckled to myself... At least I actually had something in my head...
Dont ya undurstand me? What di yar speek... Chocobo?
{/fume}
I was tempted to leave the safety of the steering house, but did not.
I knew that this Buckbeard was just trying to provoke me into anger and that simply won't do.
Instead, I folded my arms across my chest and resisted the urge to stick out my tongue at the legion of undead gathered on the deck.
I knew they couldn't get into the steering house. So I just smiled and waited. When we got closer to Whitegate, they finally fled.
Once I arrived, I met up with the party.
We headed out into the field area just outside the city. Our targets would be little pink birds called Colibri.
Wow did we slay them quickly! I could hardly believe it.
Sadly, they were really resistant to Paralize and Slow, so I cast Dia on each new bird when I remembered.
I was the main healer for the group, with a Scholar to assist me.
The strange little birds used equally as strange abilities like snatch morsel and feather tickle.
How in the heck could they take something you have already eaten?
Feather tickle sounded a little naughty... I would have to refrain from telling Sarima about that
particular ability lest I give her any ideas!
