My First Time! {Item}{Bloody Robe}

Dec 12, 2008

Since the fighting, crafting and fishing wasn't going exactly as I had planned, I chose to divert back to something that had been going well. QUESTS!
The citizens of Windurst always seem to have some task to push off onto an adventurer.
I had spoken to Moari-Kaaori and his little broken heart moved me to accept his request for a special flower.
Little did I know it wasn't as simple as going over to the Rhinostery and asking...

Still without a proper bed, I was stiff and not exactly in the mood to traipse all across Tahrongi Canyon in search of a cactus flower.
However I heard the reward was a shiny new sword, something I was in the mood for.

Before heading out, because I was really determined to get a bed, I tacked an ad up to the search board:
[Synthesis][Need Made]
Bronze Bed {Please} {Help me out!}
have: 4 Bronze Ingots, 2 Cotton Cloth, 1 Grass Thread, Saruta Cotton
~KiamoKo

The place where this rare cactus grew was in a nest of Goblins! I had to slay them all just to get a clear look at it.
They were short and squat, but none the less lovely and had a light fresh scent, almost like rain.
I enjoyed that peace for too long, because as I was wandering out of the area the Goblin re-enforcements showed up.
I managed to bind and silence one before running a short distance away to dispose of the other.
Altana was on my side once again, because I managed to take them both out... with little health and no mana left at the end! Haha!

As I was wandering back, a man with a little metal doll following him asked if I needed help with another quest I was working on, "The Old Lady".
It required some odd items that I knew I could not obtain on my own. So I had painted up a square of cotton cloth with the words:
Wild Rabbit Tail, Dhalmel Saliva, Bloody Robe - {Please Assist.}
And pinned that to the back of my tunic thinking that maybe while I was cactus hunting, someone would offer aid.
He must had read it as he approached. =D

Hello there Kiamo, I am out here skilling up my automation and can help you get those items if you like.

Oh yes!! Yes please! I was on my way to take this cactus flower back to Moari-Kaaori... Will you be skilling long? Do I have time to run to Windurst?

Yes, go ahead. Look for me here when you are done.

*GLEE*

I ran back to Windurst as fast as I could, traded the flower for a new sword (and some gil, hurray!) and raced back out to the Puppeteer.
He invited me to his party, though it was just the two of us.
My first one!! Well- does it count? We weren't exactly going for experience points together. :p
We found the Wild Rabbit Tail and Dhalmel Saliva fairly quickly. Then Puppeteer told me that Bogies carried the Bloody Robe.
Gross...

What's a Bogie?

It's... a ghost... a brown floating ghost. Kind of ugly. We may need help, they cast blaze spikes. So, you will have to stand back and not hit it with your sword or you will take a lot of damage. We need to wait until nightfall, they only come out then...and we need to go to the beach, that is where they appear.

Oh I see... Okay! I will {Back line job} for this fight! Hehe.

Yes, stand in the back.

I have never been to the beach before! Last time I was here, we headed straight into town.

Well now's your chance!

He smiled at me and we headed for the beach. Where it promptly started to RAIN. Not a very nice beach day at all... :(
At least it didn't matter much when I had to run through the ocean water to get into what Puppeteer called "secret cave passage".
On the other side however... Were two REALLY MEAN Goblins!!!
They seemed to be hiding just around the corner and they could run A LOT faster then any other Goblin I had encountered in the past. They hit a lot harder too... A LOT harder! Knocked the sense out of me. I just screamed to Puppeteer and ran, not remembering I had a Bind spell I could have tried to work.
Though, with the way they were hitting me, I think I would have been dead before I could have fired it off.
Protector Puppeteer took on one, while he set his automation on the other.
I sulked in the secret (evil) passageway feeling stupid and useless, licking my wounds.
Just then a Galka (woah they are BIG) White Mage happened by and cured me to full health! Gentile giant! :D

After Protector Puppeteer avenged me, he took me back to the first beach so we wouldn't have another incident.
There was another fellow running around killing leeches. Puppeteer explained that he was a White Mage, and would probably help, but didn't speak the same language as us.
A chance to use my translation skills!

/wave /bow
{Hello!} {Excuse me...} {Support Job} {Item} {Please assist}?
/smile /bow

Protector Puppeteer had been speaking with him privately as well, and the White Mage agreed! /hurray!
Now we were a party of three. :D
They killed leeches while we waited.
Once dusk was at our heels, I crept down toward the water- eyes alert for Goblins and floating brown ghosts.

THERE!! I See two of them!! /point

Ok, remember to stay back and just use your magic.

Okay! I will do my best!

I didn't really have to do much but hang out and toss the odd cure on Protector Puppeteer. My helper fellows slew both ghosts and by the grace of Altana:
You find a Bloody Robe on the Boogie.

There you go!

{Congratulations!}^^

Woooohoooo!!! {Thank You}! {Thank You}!!!!! =^_^= /cheer /hurray

Do you know where to take the items?

Oh yes, yes! To Vera!

Ok, I am going to help him get this ruby. You know how to find her by yourself?

Yes I do! She is right there in Mhaura.

And with that I scampered off!
After I gave her all the items, Vera explained the concept of "support job" to me.
How exciting! Now all I had to do was learn white and black magic arts to be a better Red Mage!
While Protector Puppeteer and Helpful White Mage were hunting leeches, I made the looongggg journey back to Windurst.
I wanted to get started right away on training my White Mage skills.
:D
