Once again I waited in Port Jeuno for my band of merry Promyvion makers.
We had four: Mishi, myself, Shagrath and Ghrenn.
Apparently four is the magic number when it comes to promyvion.
We sat in Jeuno for about half an hour, where I got to meet Mishi's boyfriend ^_^
We chatted with him for a spell and then played around with fireworks that gave us angel and butterfly wings!
After that, though, I gave up on the idea of anyone else showing up and resolved to farm anima in the hopes that maybe- just MAYBE the following week we might have better luck.
It was then that Sha-chan informed us that Wolf was coming to help and bringing his summoner friend.
After collecting the necessary recollections for anima, we spirited back to Jeuno.
Then, finally made our way to the Crag of Mea.
It was a fairly uneventful climb. We caught a little bit of aggro on the way, but nothing we couldn't handle.
When we faced off against the boss, we all had a good handle of when to use anima.
Sadly, somehow... probably my fault... but poor, brave Sha-chan died!
But Ghrenn and Wolf fought valiantly in his place.
I even cracked a couple of bottles of anima that I had with me over the Craver's head!
I was pretty ticked when he knocked Sha-chan out!
Revenge was ours when it finally fell!
Thank you so much Shagrath, big brother Wolf and his friend!
Congratulations Mishi and Ghrenn!
I ended up somewhere strange after the battle and waited for big brother Wolf to come and walk me to Tavnazian Safehold.
Shagrath said he would also meet me there.
As much as I want to go into detail about what all happened to me and what I saw, I wouldn't want to spoil anything for anyone else so... I'll hold my tongue!
Wolf showed me around the safehold for a bit, until Shagrath got there.
Then Sha-chan and I went to have a look around outside.
We found our way to a grassy cliff that overlooked the beach.
What a magnificent place!
The beauty that is the meadows made the frustrations of Promyvion worth the while.
As we were relaxing I remembered that Shagrath had faced off against Sharaam earlier in the day.
I had been so concerned with Promyvion, that I had forgotten to ask him of the details of his battle!
I contentedly curled up in his lap as he recounted the tale to me:
As for the story of that epic fight.
As a Puppetmaster, I did not fight the infamous Maat.
Oh?
You know that Puppetmaster in Bastok?
Yes. In... Markets?
Yes. That is who gave you the quest to become a pup, and also who I had to fight.
So I stocked up on Hi-Potions, about 38 total.
Icarus Wing, Au Lait, Courel Sub.
Sleeping potions and an Opo Opo Necklace for an extra weaponskill.
Wow!
I had gotten rid of every vital item, even my linkpearl.
Except, of course, those two very important items.
I blushed. He had told me earlier that he took the Starlight Card I had given him, as well as the Love Chocolate I made him, along for the battle.
I traded him my testimony and he teleported me to Navukgo Exection Chamber. Which was quite a place. Lava all around.
Lava?!
Oh yes. It was quite a scene.
And behind a large iron door waited Sharaam and his automation, Valkeng.
Oh, an ominous name! Hehe I don't know why it strikes me so.
I had selected my automation and his attachments before entering.
I went with the Red Mage ^^ in hopes your strength would help me to victory.
Shagrath poked me gently and smiled.
Earlier I had told him that I wished I could go with him to aid him in battle. Then after thinking on it, even though I had no clue what so ever about what he faced, I begged him to take the Red Mage automation. I suggested that perhaps somehow with Red Mage it would almost be like I was assisting him.
I used four sleeping potions with an item that gains you TP while asleep, so that I had 100% TP.
And I began the fight, sending Lobo to attack Sharaam while I fought Valkeng.
I used Howling Fist, taking out around 45% of the automations HP.
Then using an Icarus Wing, I did so a second time.
Oh? Not master versus master and automation versus automation?
No, this worked far better. For Lobo is far more skilled then Valkeng.
And Valkeng fell in moments.
So then I had the upper hand.
Oh wow... Howling Fist must be quite powerful. Lobo as well hehe ^^
So now a master with no servant.
Sharaam's fate looked grim.
I took hate from Lobo after using the ability Repair on him, to heal the damage he had taken.
Sharaam pummeled me, but Lobo had plenty of healing magic.
Oh no! So you were hurt?!
Yes, quite badly. I would fall to around half my HP- 500 or 600ish... and Lobo would toss me a Cure IV.
Oh how frightful!
I found using Hi-Potions to be mainly unneeded, however.
Oh.. cure IV.. I don't even have that!
A big risk was that Sharaam might Howling Fist me.
However, for his first weaponskill, he chose Backhanded Blow.
Dealing mild damage.
And though I was taking a beating, I had a healer.
Where Sharaam had no aid.
His HP dwindled.
True...
I smiled at Shagrath. I wasn't able to assist him myself, but Lobo didn't let him die. I was glad for that.
And finally, my weaponskill was ready again.
I hit him with Howling Fist.
His HP getting quite low.
Then Sharaam had stopped attacking me for a moment and went for Lobo.
But that proved fruitless.
And instead of harming Lobo, his damage was stopped by Lobo's shock absorber.
Is that like blink?
Stoneskin.
At the same time, Lobo had also used Flashbulb- blinding him for a moment.
So Sharaam lost some precious moments of damage.
And as Lobo came to cast his nest spell.
He saw me at a fine amount of HP.
And chose to nuke him,
Dropping his HP significantly.
And then...
Lobo uses Knockout.
And quite frankly...
It was a knock out!
And victory was mine...
I praised Shagrath, gleefully clipping my hands together and sitting up to share my grin.
Your Level Limit Rises to 75.
New record clear time for "Achieving True Power"
Oh! Amazing Sha-chan!! Congratulations!!
So thank you for all the luck you gave me ^^ and your will to help really did make it through.
I can't take any creadit for that win!
Sharaam at the end of the fight recounted that once he thought strength for a puppetmaster...
was the ability to be able to control your puppet and destroy it if you really had to.
But he finally realized that the puppet and the master
need to share a special bond
and that is what gives them strength.
That is a direct quote of the story Shagrath told me ^_^ and I wanted to share it because when he was researching that battle, he did not find a lot of information. I wish all the Puppetmasters well on their trials!
Goddess bless!
