I had been putting off training Black Mage for far too long!
It's just that... well shooting hearts at unsuspecting animals is such fun! =^_^=
Not to mention dancing while facing enemies.
Learning the ways of the stealthy Ninja...
While sitting cross-legged on the floor I leafed through my pile of parchment. I settled on the long list of Black Magic that I did not have yet, pushing aside the ones labeled "BST", "DNC", "NIN" and "WHM".
One spell stuck out because I had circled it several times: DRAIN.
I knew I could get it by doing a quest for the jailer Novalmauge.
I wasn't well known enough to earn his trust though. So I headed to San d'Oria to appease the locals in order to get some name recognition.
There were a lot of couples skipping around and delivering chocolates to singles. How sweet!
I did not want to get sidetracked, though, so I headed straight for Secodiand with my bag of bat wings. He uses them to create some kind of ward. I think he's just got a case of the heebegeebies from some childhood nightmare!
Next I paid a visit to Parvipon, who had requested rabbit hides. I had a decent stash of those after training beastmaster and dancer with Shagrath a few days earlier.
As I was about to poke around some more, Shagrath found me and asked if I wanted to do anything with him.
Well, I really should get back to training black mage...
Certainly. ^_^ Do you want to duo or look for a group.
Ah... I think a group. You see I seem to need to be a bit more adept in order to be able to wear my Seer's attire when training.
Okay, let's go to Jeuno then.
Shagrath found more people to join us and soon we were in Qufim Island slaying worms and crabs.
To my delight, I found we could function really well with just myself and a Red Mage for healing.
Eventually, we moved on to Delkfutt Tower to face the Gigas who roamed inside.
Our Red Mage also left the group, replacing himself with a White Mage.
The entire evening, our puller was a bit overzealous. I became concerned now that we were facing Gigas and bats, and for good reason!
He came running toward us shouting, "Add! Two Gigas!"
Not only were there two Gigas, but he also managed to get the unwanted attention of a BAT!
How were we going to fend off three enemies at once?!
The White Mage started casting bind on the bat.
The extra gigas would be up to me...
{*}Elemental Seal{*}
Kiamoko starts casting Sleep on the Giant Lobber.
The Giant Lobber is asleep.
Yay! It worked!
But this was no time for celebration, the white mage was being attacked by the bat.
Cure!
Kiamoko starts casting Bind on the Ancient Bat.
The Ancient Bat is bound.
Yay!
...
Wait.. now what is going to happen when the gigas wakes up and the bat is no longer bound...
{/panic}
Meantime Sha-chan whispered to me not to forget about elemental seal when sleeping.
I used it, silly!
Oh? Well good!
=p Pay attention.
Well, I'm a little busy since I have to focus on helping the rest of the group save you from the three enemies now! Haha.
Okay, I will forrgive you this time! Hurry and kill them please... {/panic}

Our group handled the situation expertly!
They disposed of the initial gigas first. Then took out the bat quickly and moved on to the gigas I had slept before either of them had a chance to do much damage to me or the white mage.
In the end. not one of us were knocked out! ^_^
I was truly amazed at everyone's skills that night.
And as we were all thinking about going home for some much needed rest... /*\ Level Up! 29 /*\
